Grocerychoice wastes tax payer's money
The Rudd Government's Grocerychoice is absolutely rubbish. It is the same as the so called FuleWatch.
Everyone knows the prices of grocery are different from store to store; even they are belong to the parent company, the prices of grocery are different from brand to brand and from time to time depends on sales.
The Grocerychoice website only lists the prices of grocery with the company name and with the level of category. How is it possible to make a judgement on whether which shop has better deal for shoppers? How shoppers know that they will save money on which shop.
Lets look at this kind of jokes in details.
In the Meat & Seafood category
It includes "Products include beef, chicken, lamb and pork products as well as bacon, ham and other processed meats. Also included are canned, frozen and chilled seafood products." (source: Grocerychoice)
The Grocerychoice says "Independents: $28.01 while Woolworths / Safeway: $27.98". However the price of pork products maybe cheaper in an Independent shop than in a Woolworths / Safeway shop.
Why does the Rudd' government waste money to publish these useless information while Shoppingmate can do a better job.
Shoppingmate can record every shopping item with prices. It know how much did you pay for it and where and when did you buy it. When you make a shopping list, Shoppingmate shows the last purchase price of the item so you know the price of the item. It also allow to choose where you want to shop for that item.
Shoppingmate was developed as a tool for families to manage their shopping budget. It has rich information for shoppers to make decision what need to buy, how much they should pay for them. It also provides summary of grocery spend in weeks, months and years. More importantly it is free to download and try. It only cost $9.99 if you need to register it.
